Postcards From Home

Sorry for the delay in blogging, i havent really had anything to blog about actually. However, thats not to say that theres nothing going on here. Yesterday it snowed heavily for the first time in months and has continued to snow all through today. This has been a long awaited fall as the mountain continued to get drier by the day.

Some of my family is in Canada at the moment, so i took a few days off work and have been staying and riding with them for the last couple of days. Its been good to get out of lake louise and see my family but I am actually missing the lake believe it or not.

Ill hopefully have another video up either tomorrow or the next day with some footage of our latest snowfalls.

My buddy Nate has just arrived in town and is living here for a few months so im just about to go out and catch up with him.

Where is my mind?

Fun times at Sunshine

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday, Myself, Mike, Rob and Will took a trip out to Sunshine Village Mountain in search of some powder and good times. We caught the bus out at 7:40 am and arrived there shortly after 8am.

It was a nice sunny day and everything was good, until i broke my board ending my riding for the day and consequently everyone elses. As we didnt have a ride home, we were planning to hitch hike. As we made our way out onto the highway a very big and expensive ute pulled up alongside us, the driver called out "need a lift?". How perfect, we had only been waiting five minutes and we allready had a comfortable lift home. As we placed our boards in the tray of the ute and went to get into the ute, the driver informed us that we would have to 'sit in the back'. No worries, ill just open the back door and get in? However the back seat was covered in luggage, this is when i realised that he meant for us to sit in the tray of the ute.

I thought quickly about the decision, and with the temperature dropping as it got later, and the highway being fairly deserted, this seemed to by our best option, so i jumped up and into the tray, We took off.

The tray was rather comfortable as it could have easily fit 20 people in it. The drive was fun to say the least, but when i thought it couldnt get any better, the driver passed through a can of beer each through the back window and we enjoyed our free beer whilst looking out in the canadian rocky mountains.

All in all, it was good decision apart from the physical dangers, good experience.
Where is my mind?

Enjoying the ride

Welcome Back

To the internet for myself. Sorry for the delay in blogging, the internet where i live was broken and had being getting repaired for the last week or so, so i havent been able to go on at all. Nothing much is new here, The temperature has risen recently, it was 9 degrees celcius a few days ago which made it very pleasent to go riding in! However it seems that our little heat wave was to be cut short after a few days, with us experiencing some negative 20 celcius days aswell.

Australia day here was a lot of fun, the bar on the mountain had an Australian barbeque on the day with Extra Dry beers for sale aswell.

University offers came out recently. I got offered a spot at Swinburne University in Hawthorne which im pleased with, but I am waiting until second round offers are out to what else may come up.

Our new flat mate arrived last night, finally a full house of seven again after unfortunately Chris the tall canadian left us to fufill other goals.

Speaking of guests, my fellow melbournian friend will be joining me shortly and sleeping on the floor as she travels the world.

I have to go into Banff tomorrow to pick up some grocery shopping as once again, myself and wesley have run out of food.

Im looking forward to the coming months being here, and then also going on to NYC and then out to Europe. Ill post again soon with photos when something interesting happens.
